I’ve composed songs and score for a wide variety of film and television projects!

I often do this in collaboration with Cody Fitzgerald (of the band Stolen Jars, and one of my partners in creating Hi-Lo Jack) or with Jordan Cohen (one of my bandmates in Lawrence and partners in The Diner and Soupbread Sound).

Some highlights include:

- Composing the full original score and soundtrack for Disney’s Noelle, starring Anna Kendrick and Bill Hader (for which I won a 2021 BMI Award for Best Score in a Streaming Film).

- Composing many of the originals songs (and a handful of score pieces) for Steven Spielberg’s Animaniacs on Hulu (which has won several Emmys!).

- Composing the full original score for indie-comedy Landline, starring Jenny Slate, John Tuturro and Edie Falco, which premiered at Sundance and was released by Amazon Studios.

- Composing the full original score for the indie-comedy The Rewrite starring Hugh Grant and Marisa Tomei.

- Performing and producing a song for end credits on an episode of HBO’s The Jinx, directed by Andrew Jarecki.

- Composing the theme song for Miss Congeniality starring Sandra Bullock when I was 5 years old (I know that sounds weird but it’s not a typo).

- Composing an original song (and lending several Lawrence songs) to CBS’ procedural drama Instinct for an episode that is literally based on a version of me and Gracie’s relationship if I were to get brutally murdered and she were to need to help the police solve my murder through clues in my music. If that’s not crazy enough, I actually play the fictionalized (and murdered) version of myself (I know that all sounds even weirder, but it is also not a typo).

Anyway, those are just a handful, every project you see the poster for I did some combination of composing, producing and performing original songs and score for, and there are a whole bunch of projects I’ve left off.

What I really love about writing for film and TV projects is that it allows me to be versatile and try on different musical hats. I get to spend so much of my time finding my own consistent musical voice through my band, that it makes it even more fun to leave my ego at the door and find the perfect sound in service of a project that’s about much more than the music (whether its an animated children’s show or an indie thriller).

Also, I may or may not be writing the book, music, and lyrics for a stage musical. Stay tuned… 🐈🐠
